Niamh Kelly, B.A., H.Dip., M.B.S. and BSc. has a comprehensive education in, and experience of, human relations, after spending over a decade working in Human Resource Management and then practising as a qualified person-centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is interested and trained in Acceptance and Commtiment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBI). ACT is a progressive form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that focuses on enabling clients pursue what it is that matters most to them in life by supporting them in achieving their goals with the help of mindfulness and acceptance based strategies. Niamh is also interested in brief therapy and Employment Assistance Programmes (EAP) and incorporates an abbreviated model of ACT known as Focused ACT or FACT in her work.
She is a QQI Level 6 certified trainer that teaches mindfulness one-to-one and in groups .
Niamh has also completed the Paws b. Mindfulness in Schools Training Programme (MiSP) and is certified to teach mindfulness to children in primary schools aged between 7 and 11.
She has been a student of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh for many years, with the dharma name 'Awakened Openness of the Heart' and is deeply passionate about introducing others to mindfulness and bringing it into healing environments in new and creative ways.
